While all automakers talk about how safe their products are, consider this: This year, for the second consecutive time, only Subaru earned a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in every vehicle class in which it had an entry. That makes them "the cream of the crop for protecting people in the most common kinds of crashes," according to IIHS president Adrian Lund.
